Alinghi take to the stage

Several of the sailing team took to the stage after today’s fleet racing to introduce themselves to the public.

The ACM Park in the Darsena has welcomed the teams during the course of Acts 4 & 5 and tonight Alinghi took to the stage.

Team President and afterguard Ernesto Bertarelli, as well as crew members; Francesco ‘Cicco’ Rapetti - mastman, Jochen Schuemann - afterguard, Peter Holmberg - helmsman, Enrico De Maria -grinder, Josh Belsky - pitman, Jordi Calafat - strategist and Juan Vila - navigator grouped on stage to greet the public.

With some stunning footage from the day’s racing on the big screen the public got a chance to see the Alinghi team up close. Josh Belsky received a few laughs when he remarked jokingly that his ‘job was to make sure that Cicco didn’t fall off the boat’, before going on to explain more seriously his role as pitman onboard.
