Staying ashore

The Race Committee for the Louis Vuitton Cup has signalled a postponement ashore on Tuesday morning.

This is the first time in this Louis Vuitton Cup that there has been a postponement ashore. The teams must remain available to race as the postponement flag could come down if conditions improve. Racing would then resume shortly (90 minutes) afterwards.

The forecast is for a light sea breeze today. As with Monday, the developing sea breeze will have to fight off an upper level gradient wind. But unlike Monday, the gradient is much weaker, enhancing the chances of the sea breeze building to a ‘raceable’ level.
